I'll be meeting with some folks this Sunday at 9am to test out my friends new laser gun (http://www.lasertech.com/TruSpeed-Laser-Speed-Gun.aspx).

We'll be testing the accuracy of the gun, and other laser and radar guns. Testing not only the accuracy of the guns, but the effectiveness of installed laser jammers and radar/laser detectors.

This new laser gun isn't used by any agency in Houston yet, but is supposed to be one of the best on the market.

The LTi gun boasts that it is impervious to lidar and radar detectors, but testing it out on my own car my V1 picked it up as soon as the gun was activated. It also couldn't get a reading while I had the laser jammer on. It would read with the jammer on at 200 feet, so with the advance warning of the V1 and the jammer, you'll have plenty of time to get back to the speed limit and turn the jammer off before the cop gives it a second thought.

Tested against HPD as well, no ticket ha ha!

Anyways we'll be meeting at the Starbucks on Smith St in midtown Sunday morning 2/15/09 at 9am. Come if you want!

Sweet!!!
What jammer do you use?
Has it actually worked for you in any situations?

Laser Interceptor, best on the market right now. I know it works due to the testing I've done already, but the V1 gives me advance notice. I have full confidence in the jammer!

So is a V1 worth the $?

No doubt.

It sniffs em out, even if sometimes they are on the opposite side of the freeway or on a side street, you have lots of time to "return to normal". You'll see what direction the signal is coming from so you know where to look as soon as it starts sounding. It's easier than trying to look everywhere when the detector goes off.

It has been very very handy no matter the cost!

If u have a jammer wouldn't a radar be useless?

Radar jammers are very illegal according to the FCC...laser jammers aren't. HPD uses radar and laser...Laser and Ka band.

Harris county mostly uses Ka and K band. Constables K band and newly laser.

So, the V1 programmed for k, Ka, and laser will always let me know when someone is shooting something.

What was the verdict?

What was the verdict?

My Laser Interceptor jammed 3 of 3 laser guns tested! The V1 detector picked up the laser immediately.

Got pulled over in a speed trap in the Tahoe friday morning, 50 in a 40. The cop came to the truck and after checking my license and insurance, and all he told me was to slow down! Dunno if it was my EMT shirt or my firefighter certification ID card strategically placed right below my drivers license ha ha!

The Tahoe is in the shop now getting fitted up with the laser jammer and V1!

Here is the site (http://www.laser-interceptorusa.com/601.html) for the Laser Interceptor. It comes with the CPU and two head units. Some people with laser jammers that aren't the greatest get two other heads so they have two in the front and two in the back, but the police don't shoot laser at cars that have passed, only at cars coming towards them. So there's no point to have any in the back of your car.

MotorWerks off 59 South and Chimney Rock does a good clean installation.

But if you have a cop following from behind you youll need them in the rear right?

If I have a cop behind me I'm gonna be doing the speed limit! The laser guns are less accurate when traveling and when shooting a vehicle traveling away from you rather than towards the gun, and unlike radar you have to actually point the gun manually through a gun sight type cross hair, it's not a broad spectrum like radar. So the chances of you being shot from behind, especially with the shooting vehicle moving, is very slim. HPD only shoots at the front, so I feel safe with just having the heads in the front.
